HArry Potter has been this years highlight but you cant beat a good comedy. I hold my torch outo to the Monty python films, I cant decide which one i like
For factual/serious films, I absolutely loved Schindlers list but my fave has to be shawshank redemption. I cried loads when that young inmate got killed (i forget his name but he played billy in ally mcbeal)

As far as older movies go, nothing beats The Crow. Brandon Lee was absolutely amazing. Makes you wonder what he could've done if he had lived up until now.

as a LOTR fan I am obligated to say Peter Jacksons Lord of the Rings Trilogy (went to the premier of ROTK, I did.)

I never got into LOTR. I'm not big into epics, generally. I'm more of a fan of comedy and action (though not put together. that usually ends up sucking some big ass eggs).

Yeah but seperately they are quite entertaining! I was a fan of the
Lord of the Rings books looooong before the movies, but now I'm an absolute Tolkien freak.....can't help it, anything remotely close to Tolkien I find compelling and feel it necessary to watch or read it until considered a geek.

I don't get to read a whole lot, but when I do, I love reading books by this author named Alison McGhee. She wrote this really amazing book called "Shadow Baby" that I just absolutely love. I'm in the middle of reading one of her earlier books, "Rainlight". Yeah, good stuff.

I'll have to check that out, right now i'm reading a book called Hey Nostradamus! by Douglas Coupland it is one of the best novels i've ever read, and not even remotely fantasy (my forte, as it were)

I saw Dodgeball last night, I liked it. The best movie I've seen thus far in 2004 was Kill Bill Vol. 2 I've got Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind which I've been dying to see sitting on my hard drive but I haven't had a chance to watch it, the script was one of the best things I've ever read. I recently saw City Of God as well. It was fantastic. And that new The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly DVD is really great too.

Kill Bill 2 rocked. I need to see it again to fully appreciate it as much as I did the first one though. Eternal Sunshine was quite strange, but good, since I like those kinds of movies (a la Vanilla Sky). Dodgeball was one of my most recent favorites in the theaters, so I'm glad I saw it.

!!! After seeing Dodgeball we were in Wal-Mart, I found Vanilla Sky for $5.50, I had been wanting to see it, and cheap is good. It looks like we have quite simillar tastes.
I just noticed your name, is that a NIN refrence, a combination of one of the best games ever and David Fincher's second best movie, both, or something else entireley?

7 is a very theological number, and while I don't like to allign myself with any particular religion, I think it's significant nonetheless. But you're the winner anyway, because it is a rip off of NIN's Halo14. Nice observation.
I hope you bought Vanilla Sky. It's really amazing, and it makes you think more than most movies. That's saying a lot for something starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

You know every NIN release is a Halo right? That's a numbering system. I don't recall what seven was...Broken was five or eight? No Sin was four so seven was Further Down The Spiral? If I recall The Fragile is Halo Fourteen...
And yes, I bought it, haven't watched it yet though.

Watch it soon! Good stuff!
I remember that whole numbering system too, although it's been a while since I picked up a NIN album and really listened to it. The Fragile wasn't all that great, but Broken was awesome.
Incidentally, if SE7EN was Fincher's second best, then the first best would be....Fight Club? I'm just taking a stab in the dark here. I know that's one of my favorites. Meatloaf was the man.

The Fragile wasn't that great???? Madness! The Fragile is the best thing Reznor's ever done.
Fight Club is my favorite movie.
