First let me tell you that Detroit's downtown is nothing great normally, however tonight was different. The downtown was packed as not only was the Jagermeister tour at the State, but next door at the Fox theatre the wrestler Stone Cold's new movie was getting its premier (this is the big weekend of their Wrestlemania event). Anyway my point is lots of excitement and a full house for the concert.
Lacuna Coil rocked! I was standing back about 10-15 feet from the stage and got a great view. Excellent show even though we only got a few songs.
Swamped and Fragile really stood out as perfect. Andre asked if Detroit was still the rock city to pump up the crowd. The crowed seemed to be into it and I heared alot of positive comments around me after their set.
They did a sigining and the band siged my Karmacode shirt I bought (not sure if I can wash this now or not...).
I had all kind of creative things to say as I stood in line, but got nervous and Cristina had to ask me how I was tonight. They were all very friendly. Criz really seemed to be into meeting fans.
Shadows Fall and Stone Sour both were good, but Lacuna stood out as fresh and I hope to get a chance to see them again soon.
........ yes, this was a great, albeit short, show! Even for a six song set, they still put everything they had into it. After their set, I also went to the meet and greet lineup where everyone was waiting to get an autograph and I swear I counted over 200 people in that line!!! It was really great to see. I already have their autographs, but I waited patiently in line anyway just to say thanks, and I'm sure they appreciated it. After the concert, I was having a brew at the State Bar and Grill which is literally attached to, and accessed from, the theater, and doesn't Maus and Marco come in for some chat and a drink. Good times for sure!
I've written a full blog review of this show on my MySpace site along with a slideshow of photos if anyone is interested. Link's in the sig.
