I'm sure a lot of you don't know who I am, and that's great. :P A few years ago I posted my artwork on here, so now that I've started drawing again, I decided that I would share some of my new artwork.

The first is a self-portrait of myself. For those of you who don't know what I look like, here's the photo I used as a reference:

Image

The drawing (I didn't get a good printed copy; that's why some details are missing):

Silje - the new singer for The Gathering:

Christina Ricci:

Catherine Zeta Jones (this is an odd angle of her, so that's why it may not look like her :P):

Image

And because this IS a Lacuna Coil site, here's a drawing I did of Cristina back in 2005 or 2006:

Because Cristina makes a great model for drawings (and there are so many goddamn pictures of her :P), I am working on a set of 3 drawings of her that I think are going to turn out great. I'll posted them as they come along.

Also, if anyone would like to see the reference photos I used, I can upload those as well.

That's all for now. I'll try to keep up to date on this thing. :)

Thank you, guys. :)

Here is my latest drawing of Cristina:

I have two more drawings of Cristina from the same photo shoot that I hope to have done sooner than later.

Nice drawings indeed! What's the average time you spend on portrait work?

Thank you. :) The time I spend usually depends on whether or not the person being drawn has light or dark hair. Light hair is much harder for me, so those drawings usually take a good 20+ hours. Where as the dark colored hair drawings take me around 15+. It also depends on how 'into' a drawing I am.

Thanks again. :) This new drawing is probably one of my favorites:

I really wish the scanner showed more contrast. In real life, this drawing looks so much better. I have to say that this one is probably close to my best.

That last one is quite something! You captured Cri's expression quite well :D

Where do you begin your drawings? Is there a part of the figure that you generally work on first?

Thank you! :)

I almost always start with the eyes. I do the major details of the face, and then work outward. I usually do the hair last. I also try to work left to right, that way my drawing doesn't smear since I'm right handed.
