Today I saw you for the first time in so long
Your eyes staring back at mine, cold and emotionless
A bittersweet love of chaotic contemplation
Like everything is fine, acknowledging nothing is wrong

Self demise starts with the rejection of one's self-being
Captured by the light of darkness
Wrapped around your outer shell
And everything good thrown out the window

Signs of my life
Returning to me
Covered in the shame
Of a life I once felt

Repeated, then slowly reversed
The process that is life
A grueling one
But nonetheless

Self-absorbed in my own selfishness
Or the opposite
Of what?
My life, the mess

The sun fills the sky with a luminescent ray of you,
And me, still wondering what I'm doing here.
I've said I won't do it and know that I must not
But the echoes of truth I hear from you deceive me once again.

Ever longing for your touch
A sweet inspiring lust for words

Softly spoken in your every word,
Here and now is gone.
Optimistic, open-minded, fully aware
Nothing's there.

Drag this down and synchronize it with the moon.
Put a patent on the very thought.
Then copyright my image of you
Equally unforgettable, encrypted on my heart.

-date unknown.

Trying to believe in hairy faith since 2002.
