Uh oh...

I've received a personal email from the Google Adsense team telling me that ES would be perfect for Adsense. Right who ratted us!?!? :P

Shit. Looks like we're on the radar! :shifty:

Personally I don't like adverts and never click on them myself. ES has remained adfree (the banners at the top don't count IMO - they are in-house as it were...) all this time.

I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts on Internet advertising.

Personally I probably would not click on the banner. I would use emptyspiral.net just the same. In all honestly if the banner would help your income you should proabably do it. ( Im not sure how it completely works ) I trust you that the banner would not take up the entire page or really make it an inconvenience to still use the website. Just my opinion though.

As long as it’s kept to a reasonable level, I'd say go for it.

Seeing a little bit of advertising really wouldn't bother me any. Especially if its nothing annoying like pop-ups and such, a banner or whatever is easy to ignore. And if it helps you with the expense of running the site, Matt, you deserve any kind of break you can get there.

Hehe, actually I wasn't refering specifically to ES - I just wondered what people thought generally really?

I for instance don't ever click on adverts and generally adblock google adsense as a matter of course.

If none of us would click on it, I wouldn't imagine they'd keep paying for any length of time...
In general I think adverts are quite obnoxious and can make a site look very unproffessional, in my opinion.

I got no problem with the adverts unless their those anooying little F##KERS that popup when your trying to read something. I say add some pocket money for ES matt, maybe place them on the left under the ringtones that way you keep the in-house banners at the top.

Also as far as I'm aware you get paid for how many banners are viewed and get a little bit more if someone clicks it.

Pop ups are annoying, obviously, as well as those ads that cover the text you're trying to read, and as you scroll, it still moves to cover it.

I don't ever click on ads. I hate sites that have so many of them that it can actually slow down the site when loading. Annoying!

I use Ad-munching software and haven't seen an ad in 3 years. If you were to put something on ES, I would never see it.
