As others have said in this thread, FACEBOOK.

Now ya see...

There are some people on here that don't have Facebook accounts and really don't went to get one. That's why they want the ES MySpace page back.

Let's put it this way. I've posted about it, therefore it's important....

even if I haven't said anything really relevant. Just the simple fact that I've said anything shows the significance of this issue.

I would fully support the idea of an ES application or group. :) But the problem with having only that is that people need to sign up for Facebook and be logged in to see it. And even if the profile was set to public, the URL would be insane to advertise.

With Myspace, even if you're not registered, you can still see the profile and it's nicer to customize anyway.

TBH, I'm not exactly sure what Myspace are accusing me of, and I'm not convinced that they know themselves! This strikes me as a stock response, and I still don't believe there was any foundation to remove the page.

As for Facebook, that is just as bad, but in different ways.

ok maybe all of us on myspazz should send a message to tom asking for the es page to be reinstalled and ask why it was removed sure they would give in to pressure ?

I'm up for that, should demand a public apology on their front pages well

I don't know, it's pretty tough to get the profile back after it was deleted.

uhm I was on the myspace forum a while back and they were saying that if you had a certain quantity of spam on your comments and don't delete it , then something detects it [because of the myspacelinks I suppose] and your account can get deleted automatically, you don't have forcedly to have porn all over the page .. that could be an explanation.

well if the profile is deleted beyond repair and there's nothing you can do , I guess you can start a new page now , I suppose you had stored the layout and what it contained somewhere [if you don't , I guess you can check the cache version] , and begin advertising it . No offence to facebook users but I don't get all this facebook hype. I agree I like myspace for it's very customizable, you can add your layout , contact tables headers and all for yourself, while I only see blank and sad pages on this facebook thing , and it's all applications that they send you every minute of the day - and now because of them, also myspace has added these things, included the infamous pet application. Also , I think Facebook is like a state of police.. you can only type your first and last name as your default one and not for exemple a sentence, they have policies for your last name ; in my experience, you are mainly contacted by those who share your same last name without having much in common, there is not much privacy etc, in the end, not a funny site!
- I still don't know why I am keeping an account there but still..-

EDITED:If you register an Emptyspiral account on facebook, it would most likely being deleted or not accepted, not being an account for a real person or an artist; also, I think they don't they accept the dot on Emptyspiral.net and the name would most likely being rejected and therefore the creation of the account as well would be rejected.

and.. just an info for who is interested , I would go out of the myspace-facebook circle, there are a few different social network that could be as good as you don't expect beyond these 2 ones, with maybe better opttions as well, just not everyone knows them. I got an account on each of these ones. Maybe, a page on these sites for either the band or Emptyspiral would be a good suggestion. Who knows :)

and if you like this , it works exactly like myspace.. http://www.imgoth.com

I guess that could be a reason, but we had the page set so that we had to approve all comments, I doubt very much spam would have gotten through...

or maybe someone reported the page as it was full of spam when it really wasn't........

but here's something that happened to me.. I had created my first myspace account back in 2004 and I used to get account confirm requests on my e-mail box everytime I created a new one for I deleted my previous accounts [I did it every year cause I was bored of my url and wanted to change it, since they didn't and still don't allow this]. I regularly ignored the notifications and nothing happened to my accounts but then at a certain point they began saying it was necessary to confirm, just I didn't thought it wasn't important [they explained that you might have to click but didn't say that otherwise you could get deleted]. That time I didn't delete my account to make a new one as usual and one day, about after one year or more, my account, and another one I created to test layout and other things were both deleted.
Then I registered another account that I keep having at the present day and I confirmed because I got the notification for I had to confirm , not on your email but on my profile. If not previous or further possible explanations, this might be the key. :?: :?:

or, if the account was actually activated after clicking the confirm link, there might have been myspace errors. So it all didn't work properly and the deletion countdown from their database started....
ok I am done. these were my 2 cents :) :)

All comments on the ES myspace add to be approved first (simply BECAUSE myspace is a spam-infested mess!).

Indeed..I have just routed out a bunch of such 'comments' on my page and deleted some people..

My Myspace is now LC/ES related, plus a few others who dont have Facebook...

'Tis crap they did delete the page for ES tho :S

@UnFantasmaTraNoi MySpace has too many users for their support staff to cope with, thus they make these decisions. Let's face it, MySpace is just a traffic machine for the current (and past) owners and they wouldn't give a damn about Matt (in this case) being treated poorly.

Regarding Trig; Swedish site that tried to ride on the social networking wave, however their finances aren't looking too good at the moment. (It's a pretty good looking site, however.)

ta ta :)
